Joint Meeting:
Announcements/Upcoming Events
o Food Drives for PV Food Bank, Bring canned food to our meetings and the church will add to theirs and deliver to food bank.
o Next Flag Day will be 19 Feb, Meet at 0630 to load flag boxes, next to Denny’s at 0645, with flags up at 0700.
o District 8 Picnic Changes
Date changed to the 3rd Sat in Aug starting this year, 17 Aug, with location to be determined.
Cannot be held at the host Post’s home if they have a bar.
Ticket prices when up now $7.00 per ticket.
Unwrapped gifts from not more than $15 to not less than $20.
Post 108 is to bring Sodas and Water.
Next year 108 will be the host post.
o Next Meeting – 12 Mar 2024 at PVUMC. This will be a potluck starting at 1600.
o Auxiliary is holding a raffle for a patriotic travel mug. You can get tickets tonight and at the March meeting.

Minutes of Previous Meeting
o Motion to approve the minutes by Bill Hudson, seconded by Marty Grossman; passed.
Introduction of guests, prospective and new members.
o None
Certificates and Recognition,
o Wayne Brewer and Wayne Clinton presented on behalf of Jen’s 7th Ave Diner a check for $1000. This money will be used to sponsor our candidates to Boy’s State.
Committee Reports
o Finance – Checking acct statement balance is $2617.93. Savings are $3215.71; Woodbury Financial is $22,517.86; Ready cash is $126.08. Doug Keller made a motion to approve the Finance Report subject to audit. Rick Gunder seconded, passed.
o Membership – 1st Vice- goal for 2024 is 88 members. The Department’s report of 8 Feb shows us 86 members, still at 97.7%. We still need 2 members to renew or join to reach 100%
o Fund Raising Report – 2nd Vice unable to attend, no Report.
o Flag Project – No Report.
o ALR Report – No Report.
o Website – Doug Keller, Slow process to update the new site, getting content added all the time. Work in Progress.
o 2023 Boy’s state – Elton and Doug are working with the counselor at Bradshaw Mountain High School. We are looking for 2 students and are asking up front from the parents is the student will be available in June.
o 2023 Oratorical – Unable to recruit someone in time.
o 2023 ALLECA – Nothing to report.
Sick Call
o Two of our members are facing surgeries soon. Keep those that are ill in your prayers.
Executive Committee Report/Minutes. E-Board met with Wayne Brewer to discuss applying for a grant to assist paying for Boy’s State, Oratorical, and ALLECA. SCORE is unable to sponsor the Post as they are also applying. Gary will talk to Elton to see if the Church is willing to do so.
Post Service Officer’s Report, Position is Open.
Unfinished Business
o CPR hours, make sure you have your hours submitted. Logbook is available at the meeting or send to Ron Arrigoni.
o On going raffles for the Bronze Contact statutes at Post 78 and 6 will be drawn in March, still need post members to pick up tickets to sell.
o John Moffitt and Peggy Schmidt are working on a fund-raising event at Culver’s. Culver’s will donate 10% of all profits during the event and the post will need to provide workers to bus the tables. Several members said they will do this.
New Business
o Donation to the ladies who are making the quilts for VA bingo was discussed and more information was requested, items tabled until the March meeting.
o Nominations for Post Officers will start at the March meeting, election will be at the May meeting. Need members to step up to a leadership role.
Good of the Legion
o New Project ideas: looking for members willing to head up and participate in.
o The post needs a Service Officer. If you are interested, please contact the Post Commander.
