Hello everyone,
We have just a few weeks left in 2022. How time flies! Our last meeting for 2022 is on 13 DEC and as is the usual custom, the Auxiliary will be hosting our annual Christmas Potluck dinner. The Post will furnish the chicken so please bring your favorite side dish or dessert.

We put up the flags for the last time for 2022 on Pearl Harbor Day. See the attached picture from the Courier. Again, thanks to Marvin MacKaben, Peggy and Curtis Schmidt and Bob Dorfman for all their work on updating our flags. They really looked good. I would be remise if

I also did not thank everyone who helped put up and/or take downs the flags during 2022. Y’all are an AWESOME bunch. Our next flag day will be Monday, 20 FEB, Presidents Day.

We were once again in the Veterans Day Parade in Prescott. We had a good turnout of vehicles (cars, trucks, bikes, trikes, and the “Sling”). Several members also visited Glassford Place to meet and greet the veterans/family members residing there. Again, thanks to those who were able to participate. I also hope you were able to partake in the free meals being offered around town on Veterans Day.

For those who have paid their 2023 dues, thank you. As of today, we have 74 members, including PUFLs, paid for 2023, which is 89.2% of our 2023 goal. We are doing very well and by my last count, we are the 5th highest post in % of goal reached for Arizona and the highest % our District 8. But, we need to reach 100% by year end. If you have not yet renewed for 2023, you can do so at the next Post meeting, send a check to our PO Box, or pay on-line at https://www.legion.org/ If you use the online method, when the page loads, click on the red RENEW button and follow the instructions. Any of the 3 ways work and it is your choice on how to renew, but please help us reach our 100% goal by year end.

Remember, Ron Arrigoni, has taken over the hour’s logbook. Please send them to Ron at: ronarrigoni@gmail.com, or put them in the logbook at a post meeting. We use these numbers for the consolidated post report (CPR) each year, so they are very important.

I am also attaching an article I found on 11 Facts About the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Hope you enjoy these short articles.
Until next time, have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your families and please stay safe, healthy, and warm as we enter the new year.
