Welcome to February 2012. I hope everyone is staying well as we are starting to see the COVID-19 numbers going down in out area and the arrival of the vaccines, for those who are willing to get them (it requires 2 doses given 4 weeks apart).
We will be having our meetings in FEB since it appears the numbers are going down, the weather has improved, and we all have business needs to be taken care of. Please note the new meeting times.
We are meeting at the ABC building at 8939 E. Valley Road. We have ordered the 10’x12’ shed to be located at ABC to store the flags and all the other stuff from the church. It is expected the shed will arrive by the middle of FEB. Although the church agreed to let us leave our stuff there until the end of FEB, when the shed arrives, we will need a work party to help put in insulation and with moving all our stuff over to the new storage location as soon as possible. Hopefully, we do not get any more inclement weather to hamper this effort.
99% of our post members renewed their membership for 2021 as of today. we are still well ahead of the national goal of 95% by April 12th. If you have not yet renewed, please do so.
Still no word on when Sparklight (AKA CableOne) is discontinuing email service in this quad cities area. I recommend setting up a new email service sooner than later so you can start letting everyone know what your new one is. Also, keep your cableone address until it fades away in the sunset so you can monitor email there and let those you want or need to know your new address.
On a final note, our next flag day is Presidents’ Day on Monday, 15 FEB. We will meet at the church at 0645 to pickup the flags or at Denny’s at 0700. I don’t see the shed being here and ready before the 15th.
I hope to see y’all at the FEB meeting, on Presidents’ Day for flags and/or at the work party when the shed arrives. I am planning to put the flags in my cargo trailer after we take them down instead of taking them back to the church and then moving them again a few days later.
Until next time, please stay safe and healthy.
