2nd Tuesday of the month,
ALR 5:15 p.m. - Post/Unit 6:00 p.m. New Horizon’s building at
9400 E. Valley Road, Prc Vly 86314
Welcome to September. I hope everyone is well as we are still seeing COVID-19 restriction in place but the numbers seem to be declining in our area. The fire bans are still in place across Yavapai county, Prescott and Coconino Forests, and in our immediate area. While we have had some scattered rain, it is not yet enough to lift those fire bans. Please try to attend our SEP meeting. It would be great to see everyone.
Since our usual meeting place is still locked down, we will be holding our meetings at an alternate location until it is opened back up. That location will be at the Full Throttle Bikers Church in the New Horizon’s building at 9400 E. Valley Road. We will be practicing social distancing, using hand sanitizers upon entry and the wearing masks will be preferred, if you are able to wear one. We will be starting the meetings a little earlier than normal, 1715 for the Riders and 1800 for the Post. The Auxiliary is due back this month. Unfortunately, the usual September potluck had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions and not having enough room at our temporary location.
I sent out a survey last month e-mail asking if there is interest in starting the post meeting a little earlier in the day. I was thinking maybe mid to late afternoon to allow those members who cannot or do not like to drive at night to attend Post meetings and activities. I did not get a huge response and still need to compile the results. Any changes will not happen until we have an E-Board meeting and we can get back into our original meeting place and have a vote of the membership.
The District 8 picnic is still planned for 19 September, again at Goldwater Lake. The Post/Auxiliary will be responsible for the desserts this year. I currently have 5 tickets available for the picnic I will have them at the meeting. Tickets are $6.00 each. You can also pay at the picnic. I will also have parking passes available at the meeting, as well. Our September, flags days will be Monday, 7 Sept for Labor Day; Friday, 11 Sept for Patriots Day, and Fri 18 Sept for POW/MIA Day.
Post dues for 2021 are now payable for 2021. We have over 70% of our members who have already renewed on-line or paid locally. If you have not renewed yet, this can easily be done on-line, by mail to our PO Box or at any post meeting. Let’s set a target for 100% before 31 DEC.
I hope to see y’all at the upcoming meeting as we hopefully return to some sense of normalcy, whatever that turns out to be.
Until next time, please stay healthy.
